Full Circle

Full Circle Tattoo

Hospitality-Driven Design Meets Modern Tattoo Culture

The Overview: Located on the vibrant strip of Adams Avenue in San Diego’s University Heights, Full Circle Tattoo challenges the traditional, often intimidating aesthetic of a standard tattoo parlor. The goal was to flip the script, reimagining the studio through a high-end hospitality lens. The result is an elevated, deeply intentional environment that feels as welcoming and curated as a boutique hotel lobby, while maintaining the edge and creativity essential to the craft.

The Design Narrative: The space balances rich architectural details with unexpected, high-contrast focal points. Rather than relying on heavy, dark elements, the design emphasizes texture, color harmony, and custom fabrication to create a sense of refined calm.

A standout feature of the studio is the custom-built banquette seating. To ground the space, the seat cushions were meticulously color-matched to the surrounding wainscoting, creating a seamless, harmonious architectural backdrop. This serene baseline is intentionally punctuated by vibrant, bright orange straps that secure the back cushions, providing a sharp pop of contrast and energy that draws the eye and anchors the room. Every detail, from the flow of the layout to the custom procurement, was chosen to elevate both the artist and client experience.
